Rightio then, I got pretty bored and decided to get myself some attention. There are a few things I like to do and drawing pretty pictures just happens to be one of them. No I haven't taken any classes and I probably won't ever take on, this is just something I like doin in my spare time. I personally liked the city sketch- shading is hella hard for moi, but it pulls nicely. I thought it was cute. |

Thanks, took forever to do the whole thing. My biggest problem with that was trying to get a smooth texture, I ended up rolling up a bunch of Taco Bell napkins and smearin the pencil around. |

The city is great. Not really that complex, since it is a bunch of 3d simple shapes, but good job none-the-less. Gripe 1 - The first one....John Croe was it? Anyways, it seems that the neck is a bit too big for his head. Maybe its just me. Gripe 2 - The second person...the jester. At first i thought his hair was a hat, like old school jesters used to wear. Then i realized it was anime style hair. Maybe cause im not a fan of the style at all, but I could do without it. I realize the second one was one of your "friends characters" but why do they all not have eye sockets. Remember the key to make great profile shots of people/objects/animals is the shading to show the bone structure of the face. Without it, they look all a bit...well flat. 'Good job either way. |

John Crow was a character I played for a very short time on another rpg and he is actually a living Scare Crow. So his body isn't put together in a feasible way. My friend's character... well his hair style was not what I originally intended for it to be. I was going to give him something more realistic but ended up listening to other people and going with anime style. All I can say about the shading thing is that I'm still working on discovering how to properly shade, most of the time when I draw I don't have a computer for referencing and I gotta work with inside my head. Thanks though for the constructive criticisms on it. Oh and the scanner I use blows chunks, it bleaches a lot of the subtle stuff right out. So I'll probably end up having to shade darker if I want it seen by you folks. Thanks again though, I'll work on tryin to make the bone structure really pop out with the shading. |
