You were in no condition to face such a threat, but, honestly, you had a huge level advantage, and the fool would rightly take its place as a lesser being, aye? Well...the Pokemon down here were incredibly distorted and altered in unknown manners. Hell, the youngest and most inexperienced of these fools were extremely powerful and adept, and even such a young Sableye as the one that was staring you down could prove to be a great challenge. You were drained of most of your Vitality, and the Sableye had just restored its own by thoughtlessly, pitilessly devouring its own kind.

You felt all the more threatened by its sheer presence, but decided to tough it out and attempt to flee if at all possible. You slowly and cautiously stepped forth and around, careful not to make any sudden movements. Though, however, just before you were able to even talk to the demented devil-spawn, a flash of azure and blue overtook your immediate vision, and when it died down the Sableye had been hit by a ranged water attack.

Out of the blue came a Wartortle; an angel sent from above. The turtle Pokemon stepped forth, looking you deep in the eye and nodding sage-like. "These bastards are numerous, and strong. Don't expect a savior every time though, hell...I doubt we have enough time to get away from this one's clutches. Together, though, I'm sure we can take it down...eh?" Obviously there was no time to have idle chat, nay, the newly obtained 'ally' was to allow you a chance at defeating the sucker. Maybe, if you proved yourself worthy, you could traverse the ruins with him.

Though, you'd have to hurry; the Sableye was recovering from the Water Gun to the face.

New Ally!

Solum

Solum was happy to see something in this place that wasn't trying to kill him for once. The Sableye was of a different story entirely though. The thing took a hard hit to the head by a Pokémon that was way stronger than it and was still able to stand. What the hell was that thing? It wasn't a normal Sableye.

"What do we do? Just attack it until it faints? I can try, but I need to heal a bit first. If you can distract it enough I may be able to catch it with my leech life. A little more energy will help us out of th8is one."

Wasting no time, Solum firmly planted his feet on the ground and opened his mouth. The normal green glowing energy filled his mouth and Solum shot it at the Sableye at a frightening pace. There were so many small needle like lights it was hard to tell how many there truly were, but Solum knew there were enough there to do some damage. Not much, but enough to open the Sableye's defenses enough for him to get in there and land his leech life.

"Are you sure you want to tryst this turtle? He could be another enemy."

I trust him more than I trust you. Now Shut up and let me fight. As soon as the turtle gets its attacks out I'll bite into the Sableye's neck and start draining as much as I can.
and that he will.

He just needed to wait for his needles to make contact and see how the turtle fights. After the turtle hits the Sableye, Solum will run in at the Sableye's blind spot and start draining what he can with leech life. Hopefully the voice was just teasing Solum and this guy wasn't an enemy. Solum just released his first trump card. If worse comes to worse he'll run after they beat the sableye, leaving the turtle with no chance to attack him.

Vroom!

Directly when you began your thinking process the Wartortle initiated a rather sickening pace, launching his entire body weight in the direction of the Sableye via leap. Once mid-air, the Wartortle used a move known as Withdraw, flawlessly escaping into the safety of his shell and using his defensive shield as an alternative offense. Notwithstanding, the Sableye surmounted the Wartortle's surprising tactics with its own ungodly speed. Within seconds, the Sableye was in the air and ontop of Wartortle, sending it flying into the ground with intensifying strength. Taking advantage of gravity, Sableye was able to grind Wartortle throughout a small area of the land prior to back-flipping into a standby stance.

Though, I use the word 'standby' loosely...

In the time that it takes to blink an eye, approximately three tenths of a second, the Sableye had closed the gap between you and it with blistering agility, and prepared to slash you with its underlying claws. Yet, fortunately for you, you'd been preparing to launch your custom move, and just as soon as Sableye's arm was going to flood your physique with pain your needles were dispatched from your mouth. A total of about twenty needles hit, with the others misfiring and dangerously ramming into the nearby ruin walls. The point-blank shot, and fact that most of the needles hit the recessive arm of the Sableye, successfully paralyzed its arm.

It staggered fro, and when it arose it held its recessive arm with its dominant. Wartortle was able to recover and shook off the pain. He looked at you with a sort of 'I told you so' look and eyed the opponent down. "They're dangerous!"

Solum

Solum was amazed and terrified at how fast this little psychopath was. In a blink of an eye he dodged the turtle's attack and got within a point blank shot of Needle Storm and still dodged half of it. The Wartortle was right, these creatures were dangerous. Solum was running low on energy too. He needed a way to hit this thing. A way to hit the Speedy Sableye...Oh Mind Reader! If I can master it I can hit this thing regardless of how fast it is.

"Hey Turtle! Try and keep the Sableye moving. We can probably tire it out that way."

Solum couldn't tell him exactly what he planned, but he did need to leave some warning. Perhaps an order to stop attacking when I charge in. that seemed to be the only real option he had. The only option he could use at the moment. It will have to do I guess.

"Don't attack when I run in I have a plan."

Solum calmed himself and eliminated the fear of the creature. He focused all he could on watching the Sableye move. Every twitching nerve he could see, Solum examined it with intense focus. He was going to predict where the creature would strike, where it would move, how it will react to something added to its territory. He needed all this information in order to find exactly where he needed to be so he could latch on and drain the little freak of its energy and restore his own. Solum's whole concentration was on the Sableye and the Sableye only. Once he found where he needed to be he would use his Leech Life.

As you calmed and centered yourself, everything seemingly became known to you. You could feel the Sableye's intentions, his emotions and everything he planned on doing. Although, because of the tumultuous nature of time and free will, you could only see an action or two into the future. Even then, with the terribly strong influence of the ruins, it still took everything you had to know the Sableye's intentions. Then, it clicked. You could see his next movements... But, it was strange... it was almost like he knew you were in his head.

Just then he rushed forward at a blindingly fast speed, attempting to strike. Right when he was about to land an attack, you readjusted your position and attempted a Leech Life! Krrssschh! Sucking life from the creature seemed oddly... not as satisfying as you expected it to be. It was something that could be paralleled to drinking stagnant water, or eating moldy food. Although it did restore vitality, it just didn't sit right in your system, causing you to feel a tad bit of weakness. Almost as if reactionary to your attack, the Sableye wasted no time in stiff arming you in the face, causing you to bounce back and away from the Sableye.

He was surprised you got an attack off. Suddenly, Wartortle leapt out from behind the Sableye and delivered a devastating dropkick to the side of its head! It seemed that the creature was so stunned that you hit it, he forget about the Wartortle for a moment and let his guard down. Perhaps that would be a key to victory. The Sableye was fast, but if he knew you knew where he was going, he would have to try to be even faster. Maybe all the thinking would make him slow to react sometimes?

"That was impressive, but it isn't over yet! He still has some fight lefty in him... A cat's claws are sharpest when cornered..."

The Wartortle took up position next to you as you regained your bearings and rose to your feet. Although normally solitary, it seemed the Wartortle deemed teamwork a necessity to survival. And, since you could tell where he would be, the Wartortle waited for your orders. But... something still stuck in your brain. Whenever you were reading his mind and movements... something felt off. You knew the creatures down here were different, yes, but this Sableye seemed... different. As if they were created or altered to be different than regular pokemon from the ground up. They were filled with a darkness. A darkness that would haunt your mind as to what could be so terrible to cause it.

Solum

Solum was surprised that he was actually getting the hang of using the Mind Reader move. He was practically in his opponent's head now. Something was epically wrong though; this Pokémon’s consciousness was completely twisted to the point of no return. Its dark and foreboding presence caused shivers to run up Solum's back. His wings itched with excitement mixed with fear. This was most likely the most fun and fearful moment in Solum's young life.

Solum's partner even managed to save him from the most horrible of deaths. The break away caused Solum to lose a bit of his focus, but he can get it back. All he had to do was reactivate his Mind Reader, and so he did. Solum pin pointed where the Sableye was going to go and was ready to attack.

"Hey turtle! I'll point to where the Sableye will land. I want you to first hit him with a focused Watergun. Then give me a little cover by taking its attention away from me with Bubble. I'll sneak close to him using Mind Reader and latch on again with Leech Life so I can keep fighting. Once it looks like he'll attack hit him some way to keep him from hitting me."

Solum explained what he needed and dashed off, predicting the Sableye's movements and finding where to dodge. He got to an area and pointed a bit away from him, signaling that was where the Sableye was to land. He stood ready to attack with Leech life right after Wartortle attacks. This had better work for both our sakes.

The Wartortle nodded, recognizing that you had given them the upper hand with your newfound ability. With his green lit acceptance, you dashed in the direction of Sableye, now having completely learned how to activate and control Mind Reader. The Sableye saw you coming from afar, and decided to meet you halfway there. Initiating his sprint towards you, it was deemed necessary to use Mind Reader at the time. You went through the exact same process; calming, relaxing, and transitioning phases. However, you were also running, a bit distracted physically, so you weren't at one hundred percent.

Notwithstanding, you could feel and seemingly knew what the Sableye was to do. You were more than positive of his future movements, and heck, you had it etched into your very mind...run, leap, dodge, strike; run, leap, dodge, strike. You continued repeating his movements en route, and as soon as you reached a comfortable striking distance you retaliated. He ran...you ran. He leaped...you leaped. Though, just as you thought he was going to dodge your physique, the bugger decided to force his weight down, land prematurely, and ram his claws into your underbelly.

Just as soon as you felt your flesh being penetrated, Wartortle blasted his focused Water Gun at the fool, leaving you sprawled on the floor and the opponent against the wall. The Sableye was sent flying, only to meet the wall head-first and taste its own blood streaming down his face. The blast was hardcore and bore the massive power that Wartortle possessed. Once the stream of water died down, the Wartortle rushed to your side and stood over your body as a sort of body guard.
"What in the hell just happened there? We have to be more careful, you hear? We're almost done..."

Your innards were throbbing with pain, and it seemed as if your head was suffering a migraine of sorts. The darkened psyche of the Sableye was a bit too much, and it seemed as if it did feel you within. Though, how in the hell did it undo the effects of Mind Reader? The hell - how do you know it did? The mistake could have been on your part, however, it was unknown as of yet.

You'd just have to find a way to beat it before it was too late.

Solum

Solum couldn't use Mind Reader any more. It cause too much of a strain on him and caused him to feel extremely dark thoughts and emotions of the monster they were fighting. Wartortle would have to fight on his own without Solum's direction. Solum took a Speed Stance. He knew that this would leave him a little more open, but if Wartortle could provide cover for him.

"Wartortle, switch to a focus Stance and fire off a bubble attack toward the Sableye. Cover me as best as you can. I'm going to try to put my claw through him."

Solum started to focus his energy into pulling out his Night Slash. He could see the Wartortle take a focus stance and took a deep breath. Bubble would make a good coverage while he charged in and attacked the freaky creature before him. He just has to get his claw through the thing and then he can rest.

Fatigue was showing in his movements, even though he was in a stance to move and attack. He was dead tired and would have to sleep a bit to regain some energy back before he could set off again. Hopefully the turtle will agree to stay with him until the two can make their way out. Having him around could prove helpful to Solum. They could sleep in shifts, watch each other's back in battle, and travel around a bit together. Solum was tired of being alone. If anything this fight was more for Solum to try and protect the Wartortle, though it seems more like the other way if this doesn't go well.

The Wartortle could do nothing more than agree with your plan, taking the role of back-up for this round to allow you the chance to really dig into the life of that Sableye. With that said, the ninja-like Wartortle took a large leap backwards, only to land back on the floor a couple feet back. His feet were perfectly aligned with his shoulders and his arms outstretched down and passed his sides allowing for an efficient balancing of the body. Once done so, he proceeded to narrow his vision and target the Sableye while regulating his breathing and heartbeat in an effort to concentrate solely on the beast before him. After doing so, the Wartorle stood back and waited for the perfect time to strike.

As for you, your body weight and footing was repositioned in a manner that allowed for maximum flexibility and overall speed, but took from from your defense and ultimately left you vulnerable. Yet, that didn't much phase you; killing the Sableye was all that was on your mind. You began drawing forth the power needed to initiate Night Slash, a powerful move, albeit draining on the user. Seeing you do so caused the Sableye to hiss in anticipation, stalling for some reason or another. It wouldn't attack first this turn...why? Either way it went, Wartortle deemed it necessary to launch his Bubble - spheres of lightweight liquid went flying into the direction of the opponent, somewhat covering its general area and 'trapping' it, in a sense, from advancing forth. That, coupled with its odd ability and paralysis, made it rather troublesome for the offensive nature of the monstrosity. That, my friend, would be its downfall.

You raced forth, neglecting the cries of exhaustion and tiredness that your body so spoke of while preparing to end the Sableye's life. You felt a mass load of speed overcome your body, giving you faster movement. However, on the down side, you felt reckless and somewhat out of control, therefor making it a bit harder to land a hit. Knowing that the Sableye wouldn't just stick around and wait for the attack to come meant a bit of trouble on your end as well - though, it was nothing that you couldn't handle, right?

Anticipation set in, and as soon as you brought your claw down on the beast it sidestepped, evading the move for the time being. Wartortle stood close by, analyzing the situation and looking for an opening, if at all present. You stumbled forth in the direction that you attacked, only to turn back around, claws laced with dark energy, and meet Sableye with disturbing speed. You tried once again, raising your arm up and bringing it back down in a sort of vertical jabbing motion, if possible, and rammed your claw through the critter's flesh. You felt your claws penetrate the Sableye's left arm, causing the dark energy to pulse in and throughout, and completely making it...

Well...die. Basically, as if it weren't already dead. DUN DUN DUUUUUN.

AND THE PLOT THICKENS, MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

"Good job, good job. Looks as if we're safe for now...we right?"

Aww...he wants to be your ally!

Admiral Bubbily

Luke's Stuffed Animal
Because the negligible lighting and thick clouds of smoke already cast a surreal light on things, Bubbily didn’t notice things were wrong at first. It didn’t help that he had his eyes almost completely shut against the smog and was holding his breath as well, only sneaking the occasional little gasp of polluted oxygen. The Admiral would have guessed that the dense smoke would have diluted any sounds, also, but suddenly he gave a little yelp and a jump (and more than a couple of coughs; jettisoning his air supply had been a bad idea) as a voice spoke to him in his head .

The first couple of seconds were lost on the little Piplup, for his confusion was louder than this strange voice, this feminine voice filled with confidence and power.

That’s when it hit him, and his eyes widened in shock, and had he not been at the mercy of this amorphous monster named smoke, he would have let out a little giggle; the giggle of a small child who has just unearthed irrefutable proof of Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. Bubbily’s mind leaped back in time, returning to those terrifying moments in which he and his friends had been trapped in the ring of fire. He’d prayed to his mistress to help him, hadn’t he? And that strange watery power…It had just spouted out of nowhere hadn’t it?

The Admiral had spent countless nights contemplating the power of the waves and yet, here was the truth, by far more wild and unfathomable than he’d imagined. This could be no other than the voice of his mistress the sea, could it? She was actually talking to him, giving him a task. To prove himself? To defend her ? Admittedly most of the words - the big ones like “dimension” and “hollowed,” - went over the tiny Piplup’s head, but he caught the gist of it, and the his lady’s parting words rang loud and clear.

“Yes, milady.” he whispered, practically falling on one knee and unsheathing an imaginary sword. “I will-“

The last of the penguin knight’s dramatic acceptance speech (had he ever had a choice?) was drowned out as he got hit in the face with a vortex.

Admiral Bubbily let out a loud cry, one that would be audible to Pookie and the captain, as he stumbled into the darkness. After all, even when your god talks to you and nonchalantly asks you to go protect your world you don’t really expect to be launched into a black hole the very next instant. But there was something deeper, more raw, in his yelp than simple surprise; it was now that Bubbily remembered Luke and Pookie, Laurel and Rayne (Unless them too…?) and that he was being taken away by a higher power without even the chance to say goodbye.

They’d look for him if he suddenly disappeared and they’d think he was dead or kidnapped and - and - and Pookie! She’d be miserable, inconsolable, for the bond they had developed in the past few years was hard to break and agonizing when it did. And…Who would protect Pookie? There were so many scary things he on land, so many mean humans and scary Pokémon. Would she be alright?

The Admiral writhed and twisted and turned in the nothingness, beating himself up for leaving Pookie by herself even as he lost sense of gravity, direction, everything. And the pain-

“Wh-oof!”

This sound was forced from the penguin’s beak as he fell face-first into the ground, into a place as alien as a desert. Instantly Bubbily jumped to his feet - he was scared, and had good reason to be. He was thousands of miles away from those he knew and loved, and he’d felt through the floor, some massive power was throbbing, beating like a giant heart. There was something fundamentally wrong here, the Admiral knew, something so basic that he had no clue what it was.

Trying to muster the courage to explore these dark corridors, Bubbily let his vision wander, and then was startled to find another couple of Pokémon in his immediate vicinity!

The Piplup was surprised, yes, but not frightened; in his naiveté, Bubbily still found it hard to accept the fact that there were truly bad Pokémon out there, and was still inclined to assume the best of everyone. So in his mind, this pair - they could only mean friends, right? He decided to approach them, but his reflexes were ready to run if they turned out to be like..Koffing.

“H-Hello?” asked the penguin shyly, hanging back in the gloom a little, still ready to run.

“Who are you? Where are we? What’s going on?”
Admiral Bubbily! The stuff that Admiral Bubbily does!
