So you decided to be all "I WANNA GO TO ALTHEA" and your parents were all like, "FINE GO AWAY". So now that your brilliant plan is in action... what were you going to do? I mean, you were in a city full of miners, stores, and more miners. And mines. Lots of mines. With all that in mind, WHAT WERE YOU GOING TO DO?

Anyway, so you totally had all this stuff to do, but what were you going to do? It didn't look like there was much Pokemon training to be had at the moment; no one had Pokemon out. The Natu on your shoulder pecked and pulled at your earlobe, while the Vulpix trotted along your side. You were gaining quite a bit of attention; your Vulpix was quite beautiful in itself, and Natu was a psychic Pokemon, which evolved into a Pokemon that could see the future, so it was no wonder people stared at you in envy.

A small kid walked up to your Vulpix and started petting it without permission. You have a couple ways of doing this: a) you could always tell the kid to stop, ignoring the fact that both the kid AND Vulpix was enjoying it, or b) you could let the boy pet Vulpix. Well, at least those were the two most obvious ways, but then again you could still do other things...

Your move.

Anthony didn't mind either way, actually, but Kira, on his shoulder, wasn’t in the mood of dealing with small kids. Not to mention she was miffed by the fact the kid had so blatantly ignored her to pet Vulpix. Not that she would have enjoyed it (small children’s hands on her precious feathers?! Never in the world!), but the principle was still there: she was the head of that group, not the kid and not that four legged mutt! Every attention had to be given to her first, or, at the very least, they should her for permission to give it to her companions. She was even fine when they asked it to Anthony, since, he would obey her anyway.

That kid, however, had done neither and the psychic type was going to let him get away with it. She hopped silently down Anthony's shoulder, catching him off-guard. He had not seen the bird so quiet before and he watched her move with puzzlement and a bit of hope. Did she want some caresses as well? It would mean she was finally giving up that horrible attitude of hers for one...

He was badly mistaken: as soon the Natu was beside Vulpix and the boy, she left the poor kid only a few seconds to register her presence before lunging on him. It wasn’t a painful attack, as she was only aiming to give him a lesson, not to hurt him badly, but it had to be scary nonetheless. Vulpix, indeed, jumped backward, ears flat on the head wondering the reason of such a behavior. She was still young and new to Anthony's team and Kira's attitude toward her wasn’t very good for developing a firm personality.

Anthony, horrified, immediately grabbed the green bird before things got too serious. “Sorry, sorry.” The trainer begged the kid quickly, hoping no one would take much interest on the incident. As if he hadn’t had enough problems due to Kira…

The kid had gotten up and looked at you. The attack wasn’t noticeable but don’t tell him that, because since he is so young in age he actually will over react to anything. Just as earlier mentioned, the kid’s eyes began to water up and a sobby look fell across his face. His mouth opened but no words came out….wait a second that was because you were deaf. In actuality the kid’s obnoxious high pitch scream pierced your ear drums causing them to rupture and practically loose all hearing…well actually just for a second, and no nothing was broken. Reality kicking in, the screams could now be heard as the kid began to kick and scream on the ground.

Wait there’s more!

A big dude wearing camo pants and a shirt plastered with the saying “Warrior Wear” (look it up) came running over and picked up the child. ( Him here ) Looking at you in disgust, he figited his belt and took off two Pokeballs. Clicking them both, came two Pokemon that you probably would love to fight. These two were specific in martial arts, like the trainer himself.

“Prepare to fight kid. You hurt my family, and now im going to snap your little neck.” He said before placing his kid down to prepare to what just could be a quick battle…for either side. You did have the advantage in type…well at least with one of your Pokemon that is…but could you finish the job and take these two out?

Well hopefully you could cause that guy is trained in MMA…and he doesn’t seem to happy right now. Ha! Hate to be you!

Anthony would have preferred to ask for forgiveness and go away, but by the way things were developing, it was clear that was going to stay as an hopeless wish. First of all, the guy was looking for his blood; secondly, Kira was aiming at the exact same thing, though in her case the blood she was looking for was the guy’s one. Anyway she had already placed herself in front of the two Pokemon, small wings spread open in what should have been a really threateningly way, but looked more like a pathetic show. Vulpix, on her part, was looking at the exchange with wide eyes, unsure of what to do. She was too submitted to make a move without the bird's or Anthony's decision.

Thus, Anthony saw no exit to that situation than to fight back. He was positive he was in troubles, regardless of the other guy’s size: his Pokemon alone were threatening enough in the boy’s opinion. However, in a fit of optimism, he reflected that Kira had a type advantage on the two fighters, and Vulpix could attack without getting too close with her Ember. He was hoping that to be enough of an advantage, because, if it wasn't, things didn't bode well for him.

“Vulpix, Kira, start with... Agility.” He stammered assuming speed was going to play a key in role in all that mess: the fewer hits they received, the better. For that reason, with the next moves he tried to 'assign' the opponents to his Pokemon so that Machop, who was the more agile of the two, had to face Vulpix’s wide ranged attacks. Makuhita, instead, with his bulkier body, looked like he was going to have more problems in catching the small Kira, even if she wasn’t too agile.

“Then Vulpix, attack Machop with Ember. You, Kira, can you try to get close to Makuhita enough to use a Peck without him being able to hit you back?”

Really, now?
What is it with spineless kids always getting in trouble with people who could easily snap their backs like twigs and clean their teeth with the remains of their spines? I swear, that kinda situation is getting so old, really... Everyone knows the wimpy one will win, simply because fate favors the underdog. Anyways, let's see if you can continue with the curve. Personally I would've run the hell away- he did say he'd snap your neck.

Your pokemon took their place, ready to kick some ass, or at least survive without any major bruises. Which was pretty much the best you were going to be able to do, I guess... Still, can't look down on yourself too much, can you? After all, no confidence in the trainer, and you can't expect much in them.

Vulpix and Kira shot off togetehr, splitting apart as their Agility send them flying towards their respective opponents. Machop and Makuhita charged forward as well, seeming to accept teh pairing offs.

"Machop, hit Vulpix with Low Kick!"

Vulpix had taken your orders to heart, and was running a huge arc around Machop. As the pokemon neared, it fired a stream of fire. Ember was too small to reach Machop, but the pokemon obliged and stepped right into the fire like the idiot he was. It gave a cry and covered its face as the flame struck it head on. Vulpix moved away, backing slowly and shifting direction. Not bad at all, huh?

Kira on the other hand seemed to not have done so good. Makuhita paused the pokemon skipped her and ther around him. Rapidly too- for a pokemon that could not fly, it could certainly move fast... But then things went downhill. Kira jumped forth to perform a Peck, only to be smacked aside in a single pound from Makuhita.

"Hahaha... okay, both of you, get ready for a Tackle!"

Once more, yes?

Even spineless kids can’t run from big scary guys right away if their Pokemon have more backbone than them. What’ll happen to their reputation, even just among their own team? Besides, it wasn’t like Kira was Anthony’s Pokemon, but rather Anthony being Kira’s trainer, and in a very possessive way, so, could the boy refuse to humor his tiny bird in her quest for suicide? Only if he was sure she wasn’t going to survive to the situation… Thus, until one of the fighting types crushed Kira to death, or was at least in the process of doing it, Anthony had no excuse to recall his team and get away from that mess.

Kira was too focused to even try to guess those though, as she was busy in trying to get revenge by Pecking the eyes out of Makhuita. This time at least, she was being more careful with her moves, as the pain from the previous hit was still clear. She was so focused that Anthony’s order advice of a Sand Attack reached her only after a bit. At least, the bird decided to abide to that, even if only because she though it would make simpler her task of blinding the fat fighter for life.

Vulpix, in the meanwhile, was trying to avoid Machop’s attack. In the meanwhile, a new Ember was ready to be fired in the enemy’s address. The fox was pleased with the outcome of her previous attack, and wanted to repeat the experience. She was discovering the joys of making other suffer, seemingly…

As your plans were already being put together, the guard was already one step ahead of you. He had already called the plans out and his Pokemon were both enroute together in plans of laying the smack’eth down on your Pokemon. Racing forward came Machop and his sights were still set on Vulpix. At this time the fire fox began to back up and heat its breath up. Lowering his shoulder, Machop thrusted forward and leaned into his tackle attack. Once again, Vulpix let out a fiery breathe and smacked Macho in the face with it. However, unlike last time, the forward momentum of the fighter kept going and ended up continuing the move, and hit Vulpix straight on.

As for Makuhita, it seemed like round two was looking to become a repeat. Similar to what Machop did, Makuhita lowered his shoulder as well and his head too. Natu quickly began flustered as his head was down making Peck virtually impossible to pull off. Instead, the bird began kicking up a Sand Attack that threw all kinds of debris into the air. In order to keep on track with the move Makuhita raised his head, directly into the sand attack. Continuing to run straight, even though practically blinded (temporarily) he completely missed Natu and wound up making a 360 turn and crashed into his trainer.

Success was a bit easier this round, however, the damage factor really was not a whole much.

Not a great round, but at least better than the previous one. Machop had been dearly damaged on top of it, so Anthony started to think he could start with defeating him and then focus on Makuhita. That would have given Kira some protection from the fight type’s attacks and besides, facing two Pokemon was harder than facing one. However, if he left the other Pokemon too free to act, he could find an opening in his Pokemon’s guard more easily and hit them harder.

Anthony chose to take the risk while Makuhita was still recovering from the crash, so that it could be easier to chance strategy if the fighting type re-entered the fight quickly. He kept his low as he gave his Pokemon the next directions. Kira had to use a Leer on the Machop, counting on her aggressive attitude to make it look like the bird was attacking in a more physical way. As expected, indeed, the flying type turned her attention on the second opponent in her usual nosy way. Now it was only a matter of seeing if the Machop would fall for it and expect a direct blow from her, so to leave Vulpix free to act and land her own attack: an Headbutt.

Meanwhile, he kept an eye on Makuhita, hoping he was dazzled enough to leave room for his strategy. The second the fighting type would attack once again, he was going to order Kira to attempt a Gust. He knew it was going to be weak, given the size of her wings, but it surely would slow down the opponent a bit, enough to let the bird dodge the attack or at least lessen the damage.

You are suffering from what a lot of us have been suffering lately, and that is burn out. Take care of yourself and come back when you are ready. I would hate to loose you because of it.
--

The guard smirked as he heard your initial plan with Natu. The small bird was no match for a physical attack against the likes of a fighting type, and even if it would come close, the damage from a impact attack like tackle would be incredibly weak to the point of almost pointless. However, you never released the second part of your plan out loud, which part of what was the initial trap that one would expect. With Vulpix in the background and almost forgotten to a point, Natu chirped loudly in almost a protagonist effort. See, with Leer the move is based on eye contact, and if it is made the move is successful, if there is no contact then it is useless. Like that whore on the street corner, who you know has aids but tries hard to get a living anyways…. completely useless. I digress.

Trying to catch the eyes of a being that had a good foot in height on you was no easy task, but the tweeting and jumping up and down it did helped, and in fact did the trick! Machop the stupid being that his trainer made him out to be, looked right at the bird and was temporarily unable to move. Shocked that a move like this actually worked, he smiled once again, but did nothing. Strange… This is when Vulpix kicked it into high gear. However, unfortunately the disability to movement only lasted for 2 seconds, as the guard counted just long enough to call out a move. “Machop, Low Kick” He said as the fighting type nodded and began charging. The two pokemon, Vulpix and Machop were headed straight for each other, however, Machop was aiming for Natu and not the fire fox.

Leaping into the air, Machop went for a low kick maneuver aimed straight at Natu. In desperation the small bird backed up, escaping to head over to Makuhita… allowing ample room for Vulpix to leap in with a headbutt. Unfortunately this is as bad as it sounds. Vuplix was met with the shin and upper foot of Machop, and the fighting type was dealt the pain of a fox smashing into its shin hard. Well first off let me say, that the kick that Machop delivered cracked Vulpix right in the snout as the foot portion went underneath the jaw. As for Vulplix, the fox slammed into Machop’s shin, which delievered a rippling pain wave that rocked the poor fighter to the ground. There, laying in the middle of the battlefield, both in incredible pain were both pokemon. Who knew if they were going to get up from this…but they sure as hell weren’t going to for now.

As for Natu, the little bird quickly hopped away from the two fighting pokemon and was now in a clearing aimed at Makuhita. The small bird began to picking up air streams with its small little wings as a high wind of around 15 mph began to blow at the scrambled fighting type. It was really nothing, as Natu doesn’t have nearly the wing span or strength to generate anything. Well at least at this level …

Anthony let out a small chuckle at the sight of poor Machop writhing in pain. He didn’t notice immediately something was wrong with Vulpix as well, not until Kira leaped on the grounded fighter with a battle cry. No one could dare to wound her ‘underlings’ that way, no matter how big he was. The bird tried to perch firmly on the fighter to Peck him for good.

The sight of the poor canine made the trainer feel guilty, though his brain kept telling him there was little reason to be. It wasn’t like he had accepted the battle willingly, right? But then again, if he had learned how to keep his Pokemon at bay, that wouldn’t have happened. Kira was too stubborn to be easily handled and he had undervalued that trait, thinking that, after all, she could be also nice, looking for berries to bring him, cuddling against him to sleep right in the area hit by that annoying chilling feeling during the night. She took care of him, like she was taking care of Vulpix right then, even if her own way: attempting to beat senseless the Pokemon who had caused her sufferance.

She had forgotten Makuhita, however, Anthony realized. The other fighting type could attack her any second, or worse, target the defenseless Vulpix. He didn’t dare to give orders to the fire fox for now, she looked too pained, and thus, he talked to Kira, hoping she would be able to handle that alone.

“Protect Vulpix until she has recovered, okay? Pay attention to Makuhita! Try a Sand Attack if he comes close.”

And attack, Makuhita tried to do.

“Tackling pound! Take that fire fox out of the fight!” Ignoring the fact that it would take more than just one more hit or two to truly finish your canine off. Eager, perhaps?

On the commands of its owner, the Makuhita lined itself up, and began its run towards your poor Vulpix. Kira, seeing to obey your second command, commenced to try a sand attack to keep Makuhita off target. Unfortunately, it was not enough, and having already run through one sand attack, it saw little difficulty doing the same here. Kira leapt out of the way, seeking to avoid getting run over herself, and landed on the Makuhitas head, trying to peck away at it to either stop the fighter or get it off track.

Makuhita, however, continued and ran right into Vulpix. However, the sand attack and pecking had managed to do something right, as Makuhita misjudged its run and instead of performing a Tackle topped off with a pound, instead performed a half-tackle before tripping over the Vulpix and going face-first into the dirt. It still hurt the fox, but not as much as it would have. Plus Makuhita was feeling some of it too. Kira, the smart little bird that she was, leapt-off mid-fall and landed behind the Makuhita, ready for its next move. But Vulpix was still on the ground, in even more pain than before.

Machop, meanwhile, was working its darndest to pick itself off the ground, due in no small part to it trainer urging it to push through the pain, but for now, it was still temporarily out of the fight. It tried once to pick itself up, but as it managed to move to its feet, the pain spiked in him, and he fell back to his knees and hands.

Anthony forced himself not to panic. Kira couldn’t manage to keep occupied both Pokémon at the same time. It was only a matter of time before the bird become too tired to fight effectively and the boy didn’t want to see that moment. Nor did Kira, and she was going to fight until the end to take at least one of the opponent down with her. Now her main target was Makuhita, for he was the most dangerous, while Machop was still on the ground.

Maybe Vulpix would recover in time to be able to take care of him. The fox was watching him with her bright amber eyes; full of pain, and the boy couldn’t help but feel even guiltier. He swallowed hard and asked her if she thought she was able to use a Tackle against the Machop, if he attacked her. Or, could she manage a Growl at one of the opponents? The canine wanted to comply, because she knew she had to defend herself, but she bent down in pain as she moved.

Kira, meanwhile, was watching the Makuhita warily, expecting for his move. She was slightly painting and Anthony grew more uneasy as each second passed. As the bird started to circle the opponent to catch him on an angle from which he couldn’t counter-attack properly, the boy spoke.

“Try a Growl, then use a Tackle when he comes at you.”

Vulpix was still trying to push through the pain, and both Makuhita and its trainer could see that. And as much as he was for hitting people, or pokemon, while they were down, it would have been a waste of energy for them to try to pick on Vulpix so long as Kira had the ability to get in the way.

“Makuhita!” he said with a laugh “Squish the bird!”

The fighter was more than willing to try to comply. While both Vulpix and Kira tried growling at the three foot fighter, neither attempt succeeded – the growl from Vulpix was too weak to have an effect, while Natu, a little ball of feathers that was less than a third Makuhitas size, just wasn’t scary in his eyes. And so Makuhita ran at the bird, trying to squish it with another Tackle attack. Kira, knowing only an idiot in her position would have tried to hit back with a tackle, instead jumped out of the way. Makuhita, still with a face full of dirt, missed completely. Following Anthony’s other command, the bird attempted at follow up tackle, but as expected, its effects were minimal. Makuthita tried to swing its arm to swat the bird, but was too slow and too unable to see where it came from.

Machop, meanwhile, not wanting to waste further energy, simply let its body fall to the ground, attempting to regain its fighting composure. This angered its trainer, but Machop was not about to push itself to the breaking point if it didn’t have to. Vulpix, likewise, did little else as it tried to get past the pain it was in, and do so sooner than Machop. The way this battle was going, the outcome could easily have rested on whichever side’s downed pokemon could get back into the fight first.

Anthony bit his bottom lip with nervousness. Now it was a crucial point, he knew it: Machop was weaker than Vulpix, apparently, and Anthony knew he was the weak spot of the fighters. If he was able to get rid of him, the battle could turn on their advantage, as it would all have been easier against Makuhita, since Vulpix and Kira could have worked together against him. The yellow Pokémon, however, was still strong: the trainer thought he could even be forced to retire before both of the opponents were fainted, but that wasn’t a problem: he preferred that to risk his and his Pokémon’s neck against a stronger opponent.

Even Kira seemed to understand that the fight was becoming very serious: she waved slowly now, studying Makuhita’s every move to prevent any other attack. Blind rage was more damaging than useful in this fight, she had learned in a very painful way. Besides, she was starting to feel the fatigue, and wild attacks were going to suck a lot of it her instinct told her. Better save the energies, at that point, because else she risked heavily against that violent opponent.

Getting past the stronger opponent should be easier, now that he was half blind, Anthony hoped, but both his Pokémon were in bad shape and vulnerable, so they had to be extremely careful. “Vulpix, try to use your Ember on Machop! Kira, go at him with a Peck, and if Makuhita tries to stop any of you, use a Sand Attack to blind him even more.”

The bird sent a low murmur to accept the orders, as if she didn’t even want to waste breath crying. Vulpix’s moved her tails slightly, gathering her energies. It was easier to build a fire rather than rise on her feet and run toward an opponent, but her muzzle still hurt...

The Vulpix, still bearing through the pain, tried to build up an Ember attack. In hopes of reducing the pain, it also built the move up slowly. And slowly enough, it so happened, as to keep Makuhita or its trainer from noticing. Besides, he was more concerned with the hindering effects of the dirt in its face which was making it really hard to hit the little bird that kept evading it.

“Wipe that dirt out of your face before you make a bigger fool of yourself!”

Makuhita was more than happy to comply, but Kira was not about to let him to so uninterrupted. As the flabby looking figher moved its hand to try to clear up its vision, the little green bird came up on him from behind and hit him in the back with a ferocious looking peck. It didn’t do any more damage than it normally would, but it still looked mean. And thanks to Makuhita trying to wipe the debris from his face, he was unable to retaliate before Kira got off his back and got out of arms reach.

Makuhita let out a fierce yell. This bird had annoyed him to no end, and so long as he was able, he would not go down without causing as much damage to it as possible. Knocking it out, if it could. And so, the pokemon made a quick job of finishing the face clearing job, one that was not as good as it would have liked, and ran at Kira, prepared to hit it with a Stomp attack. Kira stayed put, but not due to stupidity or fear, rather for strategy. It knew that for something that couldn’t fly, changing direction in the air was incredibly difficult.

Waiting for the yellow pokemon to jump, Kira hopped out of the way once Makuhita was in the air, allowing her to be missed completely. But putting the icing on the cake was Vulpix, who by this time had built up her Ember, and released it upon Makuhita right before it landed.

Meanwhile, on your turn-by-turn Machop update, the fighter looked like his resting had paid off. He wasn’t out of pain yet, but having chosen not to do anything the previous round, the pokemon had moved to its hands and knees, and looked about ready to get back into the fight. Like as soon as the next possible opportunity.
