Bor vs. Francis; Take One
Topic Started: Jul 17 2009, 02:24:11 PM (279 Views)
BorAreikas

Bor crouched, cramped as hell in a small cardboard dome. What in God's name did he do to get himself in a fucking cardboard dome? This thing must have been two feet high or so, and the same wide. He thought about his fight with his opponent that was on the other side. He looked trippy, really. However, Bor was confident he could break the box with Aeolus' power.

WRONG.

Aeolus came out of the Pokeball, knocked both Bor and Francis off the cliff and they all died.

The end.

Francis had hardly known what had happened before he started falling off the cardboard arena and into the pit. It tossed his pokeball in a desperate attempt to not die, only to notice it fly off into the distance and disappear harmlessly. Shit. It appeared today was the day he was going to die, and what an odd yet totally foreseen death. Yes, he had always known someday he was going to die by falling off a cardboard dome to his death; it was only a matter of time really.

As he fell he thought about all those kinds of things you do right before you die, and watched the walls change colors and shape. They went from green, to red, to blue, to magenta, to all kinds of colors. Soon he was falling so fast the changing colors seemed to make a rainbow. It was pretty, but for some reason compelled Francis to look downward.

When he did, he saw the most beautiful thing in the world. A mountain of soft, warm pancakes was approaching as he fell. He opened his mouth in anticipation and when he hit, sunk right into their warm fluff, eating as he fell though, and when he reached the bottom he was full. Delightful.

Now that that was over, it was time to move on with his adventures. He spread his wings, and started to fly forward across the grassy plains, past the gnomes that where waving to him, and into the castle made of candy. There, he sat taking his thrown among his gnome servants, the rightful king of the forest.

That of course was when Francis woke up. A little bit of meth had spilled onto the floor that he was smoking right before. Shit, he must have passed out. What a trippy fucking dream. He looked at his watch before flipping out. He had a Pokémon battle he had to go to! Shit he was so late! He started to run off to the arena where his opponent would be waiting him.

Bor tapped his foot impatiently on the flat ground as he waited for his challenge. He really found these things particularly stupid, but he didn't have any pending missions as of right now and needed to keep Aeolus in top shape if he was planning on continuing his time in the Arachnos divison. However, this guy was taking forever; they actually set a timer for him to arrive, and according to the clock, it was about four and a half minutes before he was disqualified and Bor moved on to a new opponent.

During this idle time, Bor looked around the field for advantages and disadvantages. Grass covered about three-quarters of the field. It was short and easy to maneuver in, which was good for Aeolus. On the left side, up against the wall, was a massive lake, with a sufficient depth. However, there were numerous rocks around the lake, which meant Aeolus would have to jump if he was planning on jumping in there. Not that Bor was planning on using it; he was hoping to finish off the challenger quickly so he can move on with his life.

At around two minutes left on the clock, the crowd was in an uproar. Bor didn't blame them; this dude had wasted about ten minutes of his time, time that he will never get back, time that he could have used learning a life lesson, or teaching Aeolus a new move, or having his arm not hurt like a bitch. Finally, at one minute, the challenger arrived, in all his emo-haired glory.

Bor called out Aeolus, his prized Dragonair. The thirteen-foot dragon appeared out of a four-square-inch orb and looked at him with his black eyes, as the crowd looked at Aeolus with awe. Bor called out to him. "Aeolus, can you bring me over to our challenger? I'd like to meet him first before the battle starts." Aeolus nodded and Bor jumped on his back. He cleared the stage in no time and dropped Bor off next to his challenger.

Bor had no idea who this high emo kid is; instead of figuring out anything about him or his Pokémon, he spent most of his time in the lobby groveling about something or other. However, he didn't even see him in the lobby. Was he a spontaneous challenger? Or was it just because he was late? Either way, Bor stared at him with his piercing eyes, and resisted the urge to lift his left hand in greeting. He never really got used to suddenly switching from being left-handed to being right-handed, but the fact that a sudden jarring of pain coursed through his arm when he tried to lift up his left arm helped. Bor stifled the pain and attempted to wipe the agony-stricken face of him, smiling slightly. "My name is Bor, and I'll be your challenger today. Let's have a great match..." He stopped temporarily to look up at a giant billboard showing him and his challenger. "...Francis." He held out his hand, whether or not this Francis was going to shake it or not.

Francis was pretty much just on time now, almost being disqualified because of his unexpected nap time. Still now that he was here he felt much better, and took the time to catch his breath again from running. When he met the guy who would be his opponent he lifted his hand as best he could, still very out of breath to shake.

“Charmed, nice to meet you too…aahh…Bor right? I’m sure this match will be great.”

Francis gave his best attempt at a smile from his out of breath, slightly dirty look. He wasn’t the quickest witted person, so he didn’t really catch any of the signs of how dark Bor may have been, or the fact that Bor’s arm was well, different. He was still in too big a hurry, and simply nodded and ran off to get to his spot in the arena. As he made his way off, he tripped and landed on his face, only to get back up and hurry off again out of sight of Bor. First impressions weren’t really that important anyways.

“Alright Elana, we got a tough fight ahead of us this time. I hear talk this guy is strong, we got to plan out our moves as carefully as we can ok?”

He held the pokeball Elana was in to his face as he talked. He wasn’t really sure if Elana could hear him like this, but it was worth a shot. He looked across the arena field, noticing the grass, and the lake, even the rocks. This was a well rounded arena that was for sure, but perhaps Elana could make it a little more like her own personal style of arena with a few blasts of gas and sludge. He tossed the pokeball out causing a flash of light before Elana appeared.

“Weeeezzziiiiinngggg”

She floated around checking the area out herself as they waited for the match to start. Francis felt an odd feeling of nervous sickness in his stomach, something that he wasn’t used to, but being as the arena and the battle seemed like it was going to be a rough one he had gotten anyways. This was going to be fun, or incredibly nerve racking. Either or.

Satisfied, Bor and Aeolus returned to their side of the field. Bor thought for a moment. Weezing. Poison type, floats, giant ball of poisonous gas. Aeolus could probably stand a little poison, but he was sure if he could last any large amount or prolonged exposure. Luckily, he had height on his side. The Weezing seemed to be around four feet or so, and Aeolus had nine feet on him. It also seemed quite strong, so he was sure that unless Aeolus enjoys being seriously injured, he would have to finish this up with minimal injury and speed.

As Aeolus lowered himself, Bor jumped down from about four feet. Landing with a small thump, he stared at one of the great Dragonair's massive eyes. He smirked, and relayed a few orders to Aeolus. When he finished, the dragon nodded and looked toward the enemy Weezing. Confidence spread through Aeolus, and he slithered off towards his target. He slithered side to side to avoid any straight attacks, and cleared his mind of everything except for the Weezing. As he did, he seemed to move faster than normal. However, he didn't attack. Instead, he circled under the Weezing and waited for any open spots, say, after an attack or something. If he saw any chance to attack, he would send lightning coursing around his body, jump up and attempt to ram the Weezing, sending the lightning to the Weezing. If he misses, he will make one last attempt to paralyze his opponent with a lightning wave towards the dodging Weezing.

{A.K.A. he used Agility, circling under Weezing. If Weezing attacks, he's going to dodge and jump straight out at Weezing, using a Thunder Wave on itself to act as a lightning projectile. If he misses the Weezing due to dodging or general failure, he will attempt another Thunder Wave just straight at the Weezing.}

Francis lifted his hand to rub the back of his neck slightly as he thought of a plan of action. It seemed this dragon creature was going to be a fast, quick, and generally dangerous opponent just as he thought. This was where his past skills as a trainer would come in; though he wasn’t as sharp as he may have once been at least he wasn’t under heavy influence of drugs. He moved his hands forward to his mouth to form a bowl like shape around it, to amplify his yell. He had to make sure Elana understood him clearly after all.

“Alright Elana, that thing might be fast but if it can’t see you that speed means nothing. Use Poison Gas and move as soon as you do, come at it somewhere that will surprise it.”

Elana listened, and moved as quickly as it could. With a quick exhale gas filled the air around them, clouding everything within a few feet of where Weezing was. Without even waiting a second, Weezing moved downward closer to the ground, deciding that moving farther away to get away from Aeo would be expected. Moving side to side would bring him out of the cover the poision gas gave. Had this all gone correctly, Weezing would be only an inch from the ground, and completely obscured from sight.

Hopefully this would avoid both attacks that were to come, and if Aeo got within the gas it risked the chance of becoming poisoned as well. Of course, this was just the start. Weezing gave another large puff of gas out, sending poison out even farther outward from itself moving through the smoke hidden as it did so. As it continued, it did one last puff of poison gas everywhere around itself, making a nice large dome like area of smoke for it to hide in and enjoy. Also, a large dome like area of death for anything that was inside of this area.

Bor's eyes widened as the Weezing erupted into bouts of purple smoke, enveloping both it and Aeolus. The range of its poison gas was insane; he was sure that the gaseous Pokémon fired the same attack more than once, but still. Bor frantically searched through the smoke, trying to find his Dragonair. It took him a second, but he realized that the Weezing was just trying to hide itself in the smoke, effectively allowing it to pop up anywhere. It was genius, really.

Aeolus popped out from the top seemingly unharmed, luckily. He held his breath on his way through the incoming gas, and landed with a thump in a field of grass. Bor sighed in relief, and motioned Aeolus over. He whispered to the great beast and sent him off. The idea was simple: run straight through the gas, searching for the Weezing while holding his breath, and run out. Aeolus will repeat the process until he either finds something... or doesn't. If he does, then he will get out of the fog and fire an enhanced Thunder Wave charge in the general vicinity. With the speed of lightning attacks coupled with Aeolus' natural agility, it should hit well enough to at least stun the Weezing long enough to consider more orders.

Francis watched not really sure what the opponent’s Pokémon was going till it darted through the smoke. It didn’t manage to hit Weezing this time, but give it two or three more times and it would find her for sure. Luckily, Francis was there to save the day! He called out as he saw Aeo about to run through again.

“Elana, its running through the smoke to find you. Next run I want you to move and aim for where I say it’s coming! It’s coming around the center this time!”

Elana heard him, and of course listened. It moved out of the way Francis said it was going in and shot a blast of sludge in that direction, attempting to hit the long dragon like creature as it zoomed past. It followed this attack by releasing more poison gas, giving it a little more room to run around in.

Of course, it realized, the dragon would know where it was generally from the blast of sludge if it hit, so it had to move now. It floated upward near the top of the poison cloud. It had to try and avoid getting paralyzed, and hopefully it could poison the dragon before it suffered that fate.

Bor was starting to get annoyed. The only possible way the battle would ever progress is if he could get the Weezing out of the poison smoke. Luckily, time was on his side. Bor trained Aeolus to minimize energy output while maximizing speed and evasion, and though it would take some time, each swish through the smoke seemed to clear it away, little by little.

Meanwhile, Aeolus charged through over and over, searching as much as possible through the gas on the way through. Suddenly, a ball of sludge went straight toward him. Aeolus was not sure how that Weezing could see through the damned smoke, but he could. Luckily, Aeolus was not stupid; he had been moving in sidewinder formation the whole time, and the only time he would ever break formation was if he saw the creature. No, when he saw that sludge coming from his left side, his head was facing the general right, and he zoomed in that direction. The attack grazed the edge of his tail, and it hurt like a bitch. The acidy sludge burned on Aeolus' blue skin, and he let out a roar in pain.

Bor saw Aeolus retreat out of the fading smoke, as another new puff of the purple gas spawned. When Aeolus came over, showing his tail so Bor could wipe off the little bit of sludge with his left arm-brace, Bor smirked, stifling the subsequent pain that came with using his left hand. As he cleaned off the dark substance, he told Aeolus what to do next. The dragon nodded, and quickly looked at his slightly burned tail before running just out of reach of the smoke. Pinpointing where the new poison gas came from, he charged up a Thunder Wave, one with a much larger range, right around the vicinity of the gas. The resulting strike was strong enough to envelop nearly the entire range of newly-formed gas. After the strike, Aeolus slithered back as quickly as possible to look for the Weezing that should drop.

Francis watched the battle, using his eyes to help out his Pokémon. It was why the two made such an effective team. They were fighting as one right now, and as long as they did this they had a distinct advantage. Even with the extra speed that the opponent possessed, as long as Francis gave fair warning ahead of time it didn’t take much more than a simple movement to avoid most of these attacks. Even this thunderwave could be stuffed by this method. Weezing wouldn’t have seen the attack coming, but Francis could see the opponent clear as day, and of course gave his weezing a warning. He spoke in Spanish, as not to let the other trainer have the advantage of knowing what he was doing.

(Spanish Talk, don’t feel like translating it right now >_> just imagine it in Spanish) “Elana get out of that cloud now! It’s attacking! As soon as you’re out, take your aim in the direction of its trainer, it’s in that direction, and attack it with another sludge attack. Then get back in that cloud!”

Elana heard Francis, and quickly did as he said again. It popped right out of the top of the cloud where it had gone to hide with plenty of time to spare thanks to Francis’ warning, avoiding the thunderwave that was set to hit inside the cloud, and immediately hawked a spew of sludge at its opponent’s face. It hoped to hit it before it realized what was happening.

As quick as it had attacked, it dropped back into the cloud, this time moving to the back of the cloud, farthest away from the opponent, ready to strike again when necessary. As long as Francis kept it updated with the where its opponent was, this tactic of hit and run would continue to be flawless. If Bor intended to win, he was going to have to try a different strategy here. Francis knew how to work with his Pokémon very well after all, and this was starting to become pretty clear I would imagine. Still, there was a big flaw with this plan, something neither Elana nor Francis was prepared for. It was only a matter of time before Bor realized this, and hopefully by then it wouldn’t be too late. After all, Francis had his own plans, and so far they were working perfectly. If he got his chance to complete these plans, then Bor would be in for some bad luck this fight.

Meanwhile, parts of the smoke started to thin where Weezing had originally let out the poison gas. It was still thick where he had puffed it out recently. You could see the dead grass where the poison had been touching it. Weezing's poison had some pretty serious environmental damage, but it wasn't really something the Weezing itself could control. It was just that kind of Pokémon.

Aeolus had been next to Bor long before Weezing could even think about firing, and therefore, when the thing fired yet another ball of sludge at him, he scooped up Bor and easily got out of the way. Bor was furious, annoyed that his opponent wouldn't get out of its own excretions. However, Bor had an idea, maybe something that perhaps Francis wouldn't expect, or stand. Bor looked at Aeolus, who was likewise irritated by the annoying little ball, and said a few words lightly; Bor really couldn't understand why trainers yelled orders at their Pokémon in other languages, instead of just not yelling. Anyway, Aeolus nodded in acknowledgement, and flew (slithered) over to the large lake. Taking a short jump, Aeolus dived into it. Bor smirked. The crowd will realize what's happening soon enough.

If Francis and his Weezing weren't going to do anything, than neither was he.

You see, the idea was simple in its right; if nothing happened, the crowd would get restless. Bor couldn't care less about the crowd, but he had a feeling Francis would get bored. Hopefully, the kid would realize that his strategy is quite cowardly and boring. Therefore, if Weezing won't stop hiding, then Aeolus will start hiding. Of course, Aeolus didn't enjoy this, but this way poison would stop at the surface, and sludge would fall slow enough to easily dodge.

Bor smiled and began walking toward Francis. When he did, he would probably just stand next to him and wait patiently as the crowd went into an uproar. His plan was a lot more detailed than one would think, but that would be something he would reveal later.
