The arena in the rocket training facility was rather nice. It wasn’t like the normal type of arena that was often used publicly, it felt much more high tech then that. The arena was kind of like a dome, with black tile walls all around them, and a floor that was slightly padded, though not enough to cousin any damage by any means, simply to make it more versatile for all Pokémon to fight on. Of course everything in the arena was fireproof so that damage done to it would be a minimum, and it was also large enough to hold even the largest of Pokémon in it. Above them about three stories up where a set of bullet proof windows that observers could watch the battle from. The windows were thick like this so that they wouldn’t break and no one watching was going to be in direct danger. Everything about the arena seemed professional, and kept the place a perfect balance for all types of Pokémon. Ancelin was here today to test rockets new subject ASP-03, something Ancelin was rather excited about. He had limited information about the ASP unit, and being able to do battle testing with Rockets new weapon was going to be rather interesting. That’s about as far as Ancelin felt for this android however, having maybe a bit of a bias attitude to it because it wasn’t exactly human, it was simply a weapon. Still, he couldn’t help but be curious to find out if this weapon could keep up with the skills of a real human trainer. He was skeptical at best, but still he was incredibly interested. He remembered his orders perfectly, and understood that misconduct during this fight was not going to be tolerated. At no point was he allowed to harm Rockets new weapon, and at no point was he allowed to kill its Pokémon. These really were not hard to follow rules, but it might change his strategy and plans in the fight. He understood these rules however, as he doubted Rocket wanted their precious new toy to be damaged at all. He had talked to her general tech in charge of her development division. It was here that he learned most of what he knew about this toy. It appeared that its AI was designed after another project team rocket had, that was also pretty classified. He didn’t know much about that project either but he was told enough to understand that this toy would at least be harder to battle then the average twelve year old trainer who thought they would be a Pokémon master. Not that this either was going to be a problem. Hades floated around Ancelin’s head in a circular motion before making itself visible and floating around Ancelin’s right. The gastly laughed and stuck its tongue out making a face to its opponent playfully as Ancelin stood calm and serious. He was planning on using his Gastly to fight this toys Pokémon. He figured Hades would be more than enough of a match for whatever it was going to have. He didn’t want to use Coelus, as the vicious beast might not be happy with simply knocking its opponent out. Coelus seemed to like the thrill of the kill too much to be able to stop itself. Wouldn’t really help him with the rules he was set to right now. “Hades, enough play time. Get ready. This is a serious training exercise.” :gastly Species: Gastly, "Hades" HP: 15/15 Attack: 0 | Defense: 0 Special Attack: 3 | Special Defense: 0 Agility: 2 Gadge 8/8 |

A nerdy-looking fellow with a green Safety Technician badge on his uniform led what looked like a little girl by the hand, over to the spot on the other side of the arena. This was Ancelin's opponent. She seemed a little clumsy, and had stumbled a few times on the way, like she wasn't quite used to her motor functions yet. The Safety Tech knelt down to whisper something in her ear -- probably a rehashing of her instructions. "Now, this is going to be your first Pokémon battle. You know how these work. Your objective is to knock out your opponent's Pokémon before the end of the time limit. Do you understand?" The little girl nodded. "Affirmative" The tech handed her a Pokéball. "Now throw it, just like we practiced, okay?" The little girl nodded again, and turned towards Ancelin. >run \Actions\battle.exe; >while {begin dialogue="Pokéball, go."}, {run \Actions\throw.exe}; //Butterfly!; >run \\Pokémon\uplink_sudo.exe; >...; >uplink status="activated"; //Awaiting orders; >>sudo run \Moves\supersonic.exe; >>sudo target value="gastly"; The Butterfree -- which looked like it was part machine, what with the blinkenlights (that's a technical term, ya know) and the weird-looking eyes -- approached Gastly and made a horrible, high-pitched noise, like a hard drive spinning too fast. Ancelin raised an eyebrow as he saw the mechanical looking Pokémon that this toy was planning to use against him. This was interesting and a bit unexpected, yet at the same time Ancelin wondered why he didn’t see something like this coming. This would be fun, fighting a machine that fought with a machine. He smirked darkly at how humorous that was. Still, it was time to fight, he wasn’t getting paid to enjoy the situation after all. However, there was one problem and it was the move that was already about to be employed on the Gastly. This butterfly was very quick, and from what he could tell it most likely physically was stronger. Beating it would take a matter of skill and wits. Either way he had to do his best to prepare Hades. “Hades, you are about to be hit. You will be confused afterwards. Disappear quickly so that it can't see you, and stay invisible until you can clear your mind. I'll keep trying you till your back to normal.” Hades laughed before disappearing in thin air. However, it wasn't laughing at all once it had been confused. Its mind started to fog, the world started to spin, and it was losing track of what was going on. It started to fly around the air without purpose direction or reason. It heard no form of attack being called, a careful move Ancelin tended to make when he was fighting with a confused Pokémon. Still it needed time to become less confused. Ancelin watched the battle unfold smirking darkly. He knew that his Pokémon could fair yet, he was only curious on what this rocket toy would be able to do. Right now, it had the advantage, but would it know how to use it. It was truly a test of this creatures build. "Come Rocket Toy, Show me what you can do.." Edited by Devlin, Jul 17 2009, 01:51:52 PM.

>Searching...; >...; >...; >...; >Error 4004: Target Not Found; //Awaiting orders; >Processing...; >>sudo while {run \Actions\you_spin_me_right_round_baby.exe}, {run \Moves\silver_wind.exe}; The Butterborg suddenly began to flap its wings in an odd way, such that it began to spin in place, and used Silver Wind, sending the dust flying in every direction. Up above, in the observation unit, a man with a blue Programmer badge turned on the PA system and began to sing off-key. "YOU SPIN ME RIGHT 'ROUND, BABY, RIGHT 'ROUND, LIKE A RECO--" The General Tech switched the PA back off, trying to glare at his coworker, but also obviously trying not to laugh. The android almost looked... embarrassed. Well, embarrassed in a deadpan, "ಠ____ಠ I can't believe you just did that, Dad. I don't know you anymore," kind of way. Not that it was likely she'd ever address her programmer as "Dad", but, with file names like "you_spin_me_right_round_baby.exe", you never really know what kind of weird Easter Eggs that guy might have put in. I mean, the dude has tenure. >begin dialogue="I apologise for the situationally-inappropriate behaviour of my programmer."; Edited by ASP-03, Jul 17 2009, 03:16:37 PM.

Ancelin watched with a serious, yet calm face that didn’t seem to change once even with the silliness of the situation. When ASP spoke, he seemed almost to ignore her completely, seeming to favor not being involved in such nonsense. It was true, Ancelin needed to take the stick out of his ass, but that wasn’t happening any time soon. Right now, he was in the middle of a fight, and he remained focused on it completely without altering his attention even slightly to ASP, her designers, or the music from her Pokémon’s antics. That was why halfway through ASP’s talking he gave a command, and in doing so completely cut her off showing he was ignoring anything she said to him that wasn’t related to the battle. “Hades, Snap out of it, use the pain to cling to something real and pull yourself from that confusion. Then I want you to smash this toy against the ground with psychic.” Hades heard Ancelin, though it didn’t fully understand until it was hit with the bug powder. It hurt, not a lot, but it did hurt. The moves strength was way reduced do to Gastly’s powerful resistance to bug types. Still, it was enough for Gastly to focus on. Like glass, the fog over its mind shattered, and Gastly was back again. It was time to repay that butterfly for what it had done. Taking only half a second to get above the butterfree Hades reappeared and instantly used its psychic attack downward at the butterfree, wanting not only to hurt it with the blast, but smash it into the ground with it hard. As it finished the attack it would again disappear making itself invisible. It would float away from the spot it appeared quickly to hide againa and wait for the right chance to strike. Hit and run tactics, something Gastly was very good for, making him a deadly opponent even if he was much weaker than his enemy. :gastly Species: Gastly, "Hades" HP: 15/13 Attack: 0 | Defense: 0 Special Attack: 3 | Special Defense: 0 Agility: 2 Gadge 8/5 (Silver wind Tier 2, 2x2 = 4 + 2(STAB) = 6, 6x.25(Gastly's Strength against bug type attacks) = 1.5 rounded up 2 damage) |
