We'd love to have you on board with us; just read this post and fill out the template in the next post, and you'll be well on your way. First of all, the Don'ts. These are important because I will personally punch you with the moon if you ignore this post and do them, so you don't do them if you want to get accepted. Don't: Play a trainer that has a criminal record of any sort. Those are weeded out during the background check, and the police are usually called on them. That is not to say that your character cannot have committed a crime - merely that he was not caught. Needless to say, more horrific crimes, such as murder, need much better excuses to have escaped the law than, say, shoplifting. The staff reserve the right to deny murderers, arsonists, and the like if we feel that the reason for their not having been caught was too thin, or that the character would not be able to adequately interact with other players/NPCs. Play a trainer under the age of fifteen. Fifteen is the minimum age to legally attend the tournament. Trainers are required to show legal documentation confirming age, so this rule is very difficult to bypass. Play a trainer that is obviously suffering a serious mental illness and is unable to hide it thoroughly. Pre-acceptance procedure includes a visit with a psychiatrist, so unless your character is either an excellent liar or close enough to normal to pass as normal anyways, tone down the crazy. Play a trainer that is from another world, a non-canon Pokemon area, the real world, another time, or another dimension. You've got Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh to work with - that's plenty. Screw up stats. You get 10 HP for free. That means you start with at least 10HP regardless of what you do. You also get 20XP, which can be used on any stat, including HP - so you could buy 4XP worth of HP to end up with 14 HP, or just spend it all on Special Defense for all I care. You don't need to spend XP on moves, so don't. If you have any questions, ask in cbox or PM a staff member to be sure you distributed the numbers properly. You pick any Pokemon that isn't evolved, isn't god-tier rarity, isn't banned, and isn't legendary. As a rule of thumb, pretty much the only banned type is Water, specifically water-types that can't walk on dry land, and God-tier rarity is nearly entirely limited to extinct Pokemon, so it really shouldn't have too much of an effect on who you start with. I mean, what's Magikarp going to do the middle of the street? Selfdestruct? Water-types that are capable of walking and otherwise surviving unharmed on land are fine, but floating/flopping/dying ones are not. You start with anywhere from 0 to 20 XP, your choice if you intend to handicap yourself, divided at will between up to two Pokemon (10XP minimum apiece), so suit yourself. And yes, even if you start with two, they both have 10 free HP - 10 is the absolute minimum that anything has, period, wild or tame. XP total still determines number of moves - 20XP = two T1-T2 moves, 10XP = one T1-T2 move. Template in next post, due to size.
